Allegro Appassionato

Funded by audience donations

Dear friend

Thank you for taking part in this conversation. We want members of our audience to be involved in

helping to develop a sustainable future. If Allegro Appassionato is to continue in its current form after July 2019 we need to strengthen the organisation and recruit enough volunteers to ensure the smooth running of Wednesday concerts and the associated catering arrangements.

It is the friendly and informal format which has proved to be so atractive for audiences and performers alike. Allegro Appassionato has been around for 25 years. It is the only organisation we know which provides 36 lunchtime concerts a year with a wide range of accomplished performers, including young artists giving their first recitals, and funded solely by audience donations. It atracts an average audience of 70, a number of whom visit Louth on market day because of our concerts.

If you can volunteer yourself that would be great but if not, you can help by thinking about who might do so, and talking about it to friends. Perhaps you know someone who is retiring soon or moving to the area. Word of mouth can be so effective.

We are looking for:

· Two or three more people to join the committee.

· Three more people to take responsibility for food purchasing, preparation and sale once a month.

· Two or three people to wash up. This is an immediate need because Ann Tetley, who has done

the job diligently almost every week for over twenty years cannot continue after December.

· One more front-of-house person.

We hope to obtain coverage in local media to stimulate wider interest, but there is no substitute for

personal influence, so please chat to your friends and anyone else you think could help to guarantee the future of what we are confident you believe, through your regular attendance and donations, to be a valuable resource for the town. Please contact one of the three committee members whose details are attached. They will be happy to hold discussions without commitment.

Yours sincerely
